Sheet metal panels are not a finished product like door handles & mirrors. Minor modifications including elongating mounting holes, adding shims etc. Are normal and may be necessary when installing sheet metal. This is a consideration when reinstalling original GM panels as well as reproductions.

It is important to note that hard driving conditions can twist frames and bodies out of original tolerances. Poor body work from previous collisions can cause problems with the body structures that the panels are attached to.
